16-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin and, influential gospel group Maverick City Music will be in Uganda on 16th August, 2024 as part of their ongoing Kingdom World Tour, covering several countries in Africa, Europe and Asia.
Speaking in a recent interview, co-founders of Maverick City Music and TRIBL Records Jonathan Jay and Norman Gyamfi said, “we believe God will move mightily through this tour and the lives of those attending.”
According to the organizers, the Kingdom World Tour, Uganda leg, is set to be a remarkable worship experience, designed to connect multitudes of worshippers and gospel music enthusiasts with God through powerful and soul-stirring performances.
Attendees can look forward to experiencing popular hits such as ‘Jireh’, ‘Promises’, ‘Firm Foundation’, and ‘I smile’ live at Makerere University Main Sports Grounds, with the concert kicking off at 6pm.
Kirk Franklin launched out into gospel music in the early ’90s, by first joining his hometown church choir where he became music director at only 11 years of age. With a career spanning over 30 years, Franklin is widely credited with helping to shape modern gospel music.
As for Maverick City Music, they have garnered widespread acclaim for their innovative approach to worship music, blending contemporary sounds with traditional gospel elements.
The organisers of the Kingdom World Tour in Uganda recently unveiled an exciting lineup of local and regional supporting gospel acts.
Todd Galberth and Tim Godfrey are set to bring another worship dimension to the Kingdom World Tour, while John Marie, Kimera and Coopy Bly will infuse their vibrant energy into the event
Zambia’s Pompi and his wife Esther Chungu, known for their outstanding ministration, are also among the featured acts.
From Miracle Centre Cathedral, Proclaim Music will make an appearance at the event.
