Renowned Nigerian gospel minister and worship leader Dunsin Oyekan is expected to visit Kampala, Uganda this year.
Also known as ‘The Eagle’, Oyekan’s visit was confirmed recently by Apostle Grace Lubega, the founder of Phaneroo Ministries International.
He will minister during the ministry’s annual Men Gather Conference, which seeks to provide men with tools to deepen their relationship with Jesus and also take the next step as Christian influencers in their homes, church and workplace.
“I spoke to my friend, Dunsin Oyekan, he is coming,” Apostle Grace Lubega said during a recent weekly service at Lugogo, Kampala. “It is going to be amazing,” he added.
This Conference attracts attendees from all regions of Uganda, other East African countries, Botswana, USA, the UK and Malaysia.
Dunsin was born in Ilorin, Nigeria, to the family of Gbadebo Oyekan, the General Overseer of Evangelical Baptist Church.
He is popular for songs like ‘Undignified’, ‘Yah’, ‘More than a song’, ‘Breathe’, ‘Fragrance to fire’, ‘Open up’ and ‘The Anthem’ which features Pastor Jerry Eze, among others.
Dunsin studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin, Kwara, Nigeria and, in 2014, God called him fully into the worship ministry. His life is dedicated to bringing the God dimension into the world through sounds imparted to him by the Holy Spirit.
Dunsin passion is worshipping Jesus and leading others closer to Him through music. For over two decades, he has birthed revelationary songs, sang in choirs, and served as a music director.
He has released several albums — ‘Code Red’, ‘Kingdom Now’, ‘The Gospel of the Kingdom’, ‘The Glory Experience – Songs of Zion’, and ‘The Birth of Revival’. Dunsin is the convener of Upper Room, a weekly worship experience, The Outpouring, a revival meeting, and Code Red, an annual worship experience.
Dunsin Oyekan is a devoted family man. He was married to his beloved wife, Adedoyin Oyekan, from February 2, 2013, until the Lord called her to glory on May 18, 2019. They are blessed with two lovely children.
