By Our Reporter

A man recently confessed to having attended service at Namirembe Christian Fellowship located in central Uganda, with an ulterior motive of killing the ministry founder, Prof Simeon Kayiwa.

He explained to the congregation that he changed his mind after listening to the Word of God and also meeting the Church leader in person.

His grievances, anger and desire for ‘revenge’ were instigated by what he called unfounded negative reports against the pastor.

“I came to this place, with intentions of killing the man of God, Prof Simeon Kayiwa,” he said during the live service available here.

“This was due to various negative news reports I heard about him,” he continued. “I felt he was merciless and deserved to be eliminated.”

“One day, after taking alcohol, I came here and found him preaching the gospel at the pulpit. I envisioned how to execute my plan, and also scrutinized the entrance and exit spots of the church, carefully observing the ushers,” he told the congregation.

The man explained that he however did not go through with his plan which also included hiring a gun, after hearing the gospel. He also attributed his change of heart, to how the Church leader handled the matter when brought on table.

He later received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, as revealed in the live stream, and explained that since then, his mind has been renewed by God through His word.

He knelt down and asked for forgiveness from the Church leader.

Known as one of the founding fathers of the pentecostal movement in Uganda, Prof. Simeon Kayiwa started ministry during the civil unrest that followed the overthrow of Idi Amin.

In his submission, Prof. Simeon Kayiwa cautioned Christians against believing everything they hear in media. He stated that some reports are aimed at tarnishing the reputation of leaders. He encouraged believers to always carefully weigh and examine what is written my media outlets before passing judgement.

Meanwhile, Prof. Kayiwa launched an autobiography book this month written by three (3) authors, Ssenyonjo Samuel, Raymond T. Mayega and Frank Semakula, detailing His life, works and depth of knowledge.
